The Opportunity

This position works out of our Abbott Park or Chicago-Willis Tower locations in the digital teams of Business technology solutions organization.

As the Sr Digital Strategy Manager, you’ll have the chance to impact Abbott’s digital capabilities and business at a global level.  As part of this role, you will bridge the gap between business strategy and digital enablement by providing strategy and capability recommendations and assist in enablement of digital outcomes.  You will work on exciting engagements in areas such as AI & GenAI, data products, consumer wellness technologies, developer experience, eCommerce, IoT, and delivery automation.

What You’ll Work On

Strategy and Business Capabilities

  • Lead and partner in developing and defining technology driven business, product, or technology strategies
  • Identify business capabilities/outcomes that can be enabled by disruptive/emerging technologies and business designs for our customers
  • Anchor stakeholder discussions by leveraging depth of domain knowledge/ collaboration with internal and external partners
  • Conduct analysis to determine best path for solving business problems/opportunities
  • Assist in prioritizing business capabilities and associated disruptive digital technologies based on analysis of business value and impact
  • Define new business and operating models and supporting capabilities needed to create competitive advantage

Collaboration and Communication

  • Lead workshops and discussions to drive understanding, ideation, assessment, and alignment using design thinking and product mindset constructs
  • Provide and socialize actionable recommendations to leaders on initiatives spanning strategy and digital transformation
  • Functions as a liaison to Business and IT partners to gain a broad understanding of industry trends and innovations, and their impact
  • Partner with digital leaders in creating product vision, direction, and roadmap leveraging the collective understanding of business, markets, products, services, and capabilities
  • Partner with leadership, program, product teams in driving outcomes, monitoring and tracking progress of strategic initiatives.

Thought Leadership

  • Generate thought leadership in key emerging technology areas, competitive research, art of possible capabilities; by doing primary or secondary research
  • Define approach, framework, methodologies for driving outcomes from understanding problem statement to providing recommendations
  • Manage ambiguity by being flexible and by creating clarity for those around them
  • Maintain in-depth knowledge of products, solutions, competition, customer, industry trends and digital trends

Required Qualifications

  • B.S. in Computer Science or similar engineering discipline
  • At least 7+ years in areas of digital strategy, business architecture, digital transformation 
  • Experience in building compelling, and analytical stories to senior management using tools like PowerPoint, excel, word
  • Strategic thinker with a passion to driving change
  • Experience in structuring analytical work, facilitating team workshops, and developing strategy recommendations with a small team
  • Ability to define areas of potential value through user, market, and industry research
  • Ability to look at a set of needs across the business and identify key questions, themes, and potential for business impact
  • Willingness to learn new things on daily basis
  • Strong communication and articulation skills

The base pay for this position is $125,300.00 – $250,700.00. In specific locations, the pay range may vary from the range posted.
