The Opportunity

This position works out of our Plymouth, MN location in the Electrophysiology – EP division. In Abbott’s Electrophysiology (EP) business, we’re advancing the treatment of heart disease through breakthrough medical technologies in atrial fibrillation, allowing people to restore their health and get on with their lives.

In this role, you will be responsible for supporting 30+ different cost centers, including Quality and Facilities, for our EP Operations organization. This includes reporting and forecasting for these cost centers along with supporting the Quality DVP’s financial roll-up.  You will assist in the reporting and forecasting of the five EP manufacturing sites and supporting the EP Leadership team by providing month-end reporting and analysis, updates for each budget cycle, and any ad hoc analysis requested from leadership. You will have an intimate understanding of the activity and variances being produced and be able to speak knowledgably when answering questions from the EP Operations Director. You will also be responsible for preparing financial presentation content for executive meetings, participate in various projects or tasks, assist with monthly financial closing activities, as well as preparing financial models, and presentations supporting the quarterly LBE (latest best estimate) forecasting cycles.

What You’ll Work On

  • Budgeting and forecasting, preparing financial models, preparing journal entries, capital, headcount and other facets of cost center management.

  • Participates in ad hoc analysis and reporting as required by finance management.

  • Provides routine reports to leadership.

  • Executes annual goals and objectives as defined by the Finance team.

  • Prepares consolidated reporting, presentations, and analysis.

  • Complies with regulatory requirements, company policies, operating procedures, processes, and task assignments.

  • Maintains positive and cooperative communications and collaboration with all levels of employees and business customers.

  • Performs other related duties and responsibilities, on occasion, as assigned.

Required Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Finance, Accounting, Business Administration or related field

  • 4+ years of experience performing month-end close activities, financial and variance analysis, forecasting, planning, and/or financial modeling.

  • Proficient with MS Office Suite (Word, Excel and PowerPoint)

  • Demonstrated experience working with financial system applications.

  • Strong verbal and written communications with ability to effectively communicate at multiple levels in the organization.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Advanced level degree(s) in Finance, Accounting, Business Administration or related field

  • Medical device experience

  • Previous experience working in a highly matrixed and geographically diverse business environment.

  • Working knowledge of Hyperion Essbase, Dodeca, and/or SAP

The base pay for this position is $71,300.00 – $142,700.00. In specific locations, the pay range may vary from the range posted.
