The Opportunity

Our location in Lake Bluff, Illinois, currently has an opportunity for a Senior Finance Manager to join our Finance team supporting Abbott’s Corporate area.

The Senior Finance Manager role in Corporate FP&A supports our Global Legal and Office of Ethics Compliance teams and as well as strategic initiatives.  The position will partner with business leaders to advise and guide financial performance and achieve business goals.  The position has three direct reports.

What you'll do:

  • The Finance Director is the strategic financial partner and counsel to our Global Corporate Legal and Office of Ethics and Compliance (OEC) leadership teams which consists of an Executive Vice President, two Vice President’s, and 5 Division Vice Presidents.

  • Responsible for financial planning and analysis, financial reporting, decision support as well as strategic project support for $400+MM of internal and external global spending on key litigation matters, patents & trademarks, intellectual property, Office of Ethics Compliance, and various strategic projects.

  • Key aspects of the role include collaborating with business partners to gain insights for forecasts and other analytics, reviewing actual results and forecasts with the business as well as Senior Finance management and driving other key strategic activities and projects to support the business, including ad hoc analysis which enables timely and effective business decisions.

  • Responsible for managing two Finance Supervisors and one Financial Analyst and ensuring the professional growth and development of these team members.

  • Acts in a leadership capacity in staff meetings and other strategic meetings offering advice and counsel to the global business consisting of 600+ headcount.

  • Prepares and presents decks and other financial analysis to the Business and Finance Leadership for actuals, forecasts, projects, and other ad-hoc analytics.

  • Drives the consolidation of financial results and forecasts; oversees accounting processes and methodology.

  • Partners with Finance colleagues and the Business on Cash Flow management and analytics. 

  • Develops financial evaluation and implementation of capital projects and other business investments.

  • Initiates and leads process improvements across departments and work groups. Develops and drives solutions to business and financial issues.

  • Actively promotes a positive, engaged, team environment.  Champion of talent development opportunities including hiring, training, and mentoring.  

Education and Experience You’ll Bring:

  • Bachelor's degree with concentration in accounting or finance; CPA and/or MA, MBA preferred.

  • 10 or more years of finance and/or accounting experience

  • Proficient with financial modeling tools including Excel, PowerPoint, and other FP&A applications.

  • Exceptional leadership, critical thinking, and team building skills, ability to interact with all levels in a global environment.

  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills; capable to present complex financial issues in simple, concise format and terms.

  • Ability to work on multiple priorities and execute in a fast-paced environment.

The base pay for this position is $118,000.00 – $236,000.00. In specific locations, the pay range may vary from the range posted.
