This position works out remote in the Diagnostics Division.

What You’ll Work On
The Regional Technical Ambassador is responsible for onsite assay conversion and integrations for existing Abbott customers, as well as serving as a customer training and support resource to assist in resolving instrument and/or reagent problems to drive non-instrument sales. This position reports to the Region Managing Director but frequently partners with District Managers, Account Executives, and Ambassadors to deliver results.
Core Responsibilities
- Lead assay conversion, integration and related customer training and support in identified Abbott accounts to drive non-instrument sales, which includes the following activities:
- Assess customer’s needs and manage their expectations regarding assay changes, planning and managing the integration process to meet customer expectations and timeline.
- Perform new instrument and assay implementations through Test of Record (TOR).
- Assist customers with meeting their regulatory and validation requirements; perform troubleshooting on issues related to reagent or instrument performance: Investigate problems; diagnose probable causes; systematically eliminate alternatives; provide solutions, operator training and coaching.
- Conduct thorough exit interviews to present integration results and secure customer buy-in. Lead critical account management situations as part of combined sales/service/support effort.
- Provide supplemental support post ‘go-live’ support to large customer assay integrations completed by the Technical Application Specialist teams.
- Contribute to the development and delivery of assay and instrumentation related training to the sales force in both Abbott-sites and in the field.
- Participate in project teams and initiatives to identify customer implementation process improvements.
- Responsible for implementing and maintaining the effectiveness of the quality system. Responsible to identify and communicate critical gaps and recommend potential improvements to cross-functional work processes. Recognizes and communicates product issues and potential improvements to others in the organization in a timely and effective manner in accordance with our CAPA Quality Sub-System.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree; focus in medical / electrical / mechanical or medical technology is preferred.
- Medical Laboratory certification (e.g., MLS, CLS, MT, etc.)
- Minimum five (5) years relevant experience with instrumentation utilized in a laboratory environment, or directly in laboratory environment, field service, sales, or technical call center.
- Ability to travel up to 80% in assigned territory and other domestic business locations.
- Valid Driver’s License

The base pay for this position is $83,000.00 – $166,000.00. In specific locations, the pay range may vary from the range posted.
