This position works out of our Sturgis, MI location in the Abbott Nutrition division. What You’ll Work On 

The Plant Project Coordinator will be responsible for providing support and / or oversight in the Manufacturing areas as related to capital projects, process improvement, new product introduction, MUV, MITS, system controls, technical troubleshooting, data collection, and root cause/corrective action investigations.

  • Be required to interact and communicate extensively with both division and plant support personnel (Microbiology, Site Leadership, Engineering, PR&D, R&D, Packaging Development, Maintenance, Safety, QA, and Technical Training) to assure that projects and/or issues are addressed with little-to-no impact to manufacturing productivity

  • Be the key primary resource and point of contact during regulatory audits from FDA, OSHA, AQR, and MDA

  • Coordinate activities associated with conducting Engineering Studies pertaining to equipment, ingredients, processing, and procedural changes within the respective Department

  • Conduct area audits to ensure the facility, equipment, and processes for their department meets the needs of the business

  • Submit, track and monitor execution of work orders, PM’s, and repairs

  • Interface and coordinate plans between operations (Manufacturing, Maintenance, and Engineering) and specific support groups required for introduction of equipment, material, or product changes

  • Coordinate activities with the Production Cleaning Team to maintain area sanitation

  • Audit Work Orders and work with Quality Systems to coordinate necessary edits

  • Support and lead process improvement and technical troubleshooting/corrective action initiatives

  • Support department supervisors in their absence.

You’ll be accountable for meeting our compliance standards including FDA, OSHA and Abbott policies and procedures. 

Required Qualifications

  • High School Diploma

  • Computer skills necessary to perform the task associated with the job responsibilities including the development of necessary training and job aids as needed

  • Operational experience in a manufacturing setting

Preferred Qualifications

  • Relevant technical expertise

  • 3-5 years of Processing/Drying/Powder Packaging experience

The base pay for this position is $20.85 – $41.75 per hour. In specific locations, the pay range may vary from the range posted.
