The Opportunity
This position works out of our Temecula, CA location in the Abbott Vascular Devices division.
Abbott Vascular provides innovative, minimally invasive, and cost-effective products for the treatment of vascular disease.
Material Master Specialist, ensures material data integrity across planning, procurement, manufacturing, inventory, quality and finance to support efficient supply chain and business operations.
What You'll Work On
Creation, accuracy, governance, and ongoing maintenance of material master data within the SAP ERP system. Maintain group mailbox, prioritizing business critical items, processing requests within group service level agreement.
- Ensure accuracy of material attributes including descriptions, units of measure, MRP parameters, regulatory settings and costing data
- Enforce master data standards, naming conventions and governing rules
- Perform routine audits to identify data inconsistencies, duplicates, and errors
- Resolve material data issues impacting planning, purchasing, production, or inventory
- Support data cleansing, mass updates, and change control processes
- Partner with Supply Planning, Procurement, Manufacturing, Engineering, Quality, Finance and IT
- Coordinate material setup for new product introductions (NPI), engineering changes (ECN/ECR), and sourcing changes
- Act as point of contact for master data-related questions and troubleshooting
- Identify opportunities to improve material master processes, data accuracy, and system efficiency
- Support system upgrades, integrations, and testing related to master data
- Ensure compliance with internal controls, SOX requirements, and audit standards
- Maintain standard operating procedures, work instructions, and documentation for material master processes
- Generate reports and KPIs related to master data quality and performance
- Support internal and external audits as required
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Supply Chain Management, Business, Information Systems, Engineering, or related field. Equivalent experience may be considered.
- 2-5+ years of experience in material master data, supply chain operations, or ERP data management
- Hands-on experience with SAP (ECC or S/4HANA) or similar ERP systems strongly preferred
- Experience supporting manufacturing or distribution environments preferred - Strong knowledge of SAP Material Master views
- Understanding of MRP, BOMs, routings, and inventory processes
- Proficiency in Excel (XLOOKUP, PivotTables, data analysis)
- High attention to detail and data accuracy
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills Effective communication and collaboration across functions
- Ability to manage multiple requests and prioritize workloads
- Process-oriented mindset with continuous improvement focus

The base pay for this position is $61,300.00 – $122,700.00. In specific locations, the pay range may vary from the range posted.
