The Opportunity

We are seeking a Documentation Quality and Graphics Specialistto join our Clinical Research team for Abbott Medical Devices.

This role, Creates/Updates, issue and distribute product artwork of current versions of FrameMaker, Adobe Creative Cloud including (Adobe Illustrator, Photoshop, InDesign) and Word. Support routing and approval processes as required. Ensure artwork schedule adherence and provide communication regarding priorities. Responsible for compliance with applicable Corporate and Divisional Policies and procedures. Ensures designs for multilingual product package: instructions for use, quick start guides, product inserts, etc. are developed in compliance with domestic and international regulatory labeling requirements .

What You’ll Work On

  • Assess proposed artwork packages and take appropriate actions to create, update to currently indicated standards, proofing, pre-flight, and communicate with production sites to ensure electronic artwork for AMO labeling/packaging components meets AMO’s graphic standards and release requirements. And other activities as define by management.

  • Participate in project team development meetings and with third party design artwork suppliers to support the initiation of appropriate artwork meeting requirements to minimize rework and delays.

  • Responsible to manage computer generated Instructions for Use and to ensure production validation activities are addressed before authorizing release for production use.

  • Monitor actions and escalate issues to department and DQG team management regarding artwork releases to meet project plan deadlines.

  • Must have capacity for attention to detail with the ability to recognize errors in spelling, punctuation, and grammar. Must be able to work independently as well as within a team. Good oral and written communication and strong organizational skills necessary. Able to manage multiple tasks and prioritize accordingly to meet challenging deadlines. Must exhibit flexibility in meeting constantly changing demands. Must have good customer focus with ability to influence internal and external groups. Must have experience with graphics programs, word processing, and database/spreadsheet programs and bar-code applications as currently utilized at AMO on PC platform. Prior labeling development and proofreading experience is helpful. Work with multilingual translations is helpful but not necessary. Content management system experience is a plus.

Education And Experience You’ll Bring

  • H.S. diploma or equivalent plus 2-5 years of related work experience or equivalent combination.

  • Two-year degree or some college credits preferred.  

  • Applies broad knowledge of business concepts, procedures and practices and a general understanding of department fundamentals. Will perform this job in a quality system environment. Failure to adequately perform tasks can result in noncompliance with governmental regulations.;

  • Performs routine and non-routine moderately complex assignments using standard methods and sequences. Makes adjustments, modifications, and replacements to set processes as directed. Assignments require broad judgment in troubleshooting proven processes as well as the ability to suggest alternatives.

The base pay for this position is $17.80 – $35.60 per hour. In specific locations, the pay range may vary from the range posted.
