Director, Global Environment and Health, Safety
The Opportunity
This role of Director, Global Environment and Health, Safety is a critical component of Abbott's overall Product Operations and Quality programs and supports our commitment to keep our organization operating in a safe, comp and environmentally responsible manner. The leader in this role is responsible for leading Abbott's EHS program and ensures operational readiness across global operations for the Division
What You’ll Work On
- Responsible for environmental, health, and safety oversight of Abbott Division’s Supply Chain, global manufacturing sites, distribution centers and office complexes.
- Ensure compliance with all corporate, divisional, local, state and federal regulations pertaining to Environmental, Health and Safety. Responsible for strategy development, compliance, training and incident support.
- Responsible for Commercial EHS support to Division's Commercial functions.
- Responsible for strategy development, compliance, training and incident support for environmental, health, safety AV division.
- Solid understanding of the global threat environment and innovative strategies.
- Oversees capital improvement projects related to EHS for AV main sites.
- Ensure compliance with internal policies and external regulatory requirements (i.e.; FDA, EU MDR, OSHA, EPA, Homeland Security and OEC, etc). Develop effective environmental, health, safety, procedures, projects and programs to ensure AV operates in a safe, secure, compliant manner Global EHS to ensure effective EHS are established, maintained and improved.
- Identify and execute large scale global projects to reduce personnel and regulatory risk as well as improve employee well-being across Abbott Division. Develop business continuity strategies to ensure AV can maintain supply to our customers.
- Lead, Direct, and Manage cross functional teams to achieve business objectives and implement EHS programs.
- Interface with regulators, agency, and trade organizations to influence regulations, requirements, and performance expectations.
- Staff, retain, and develop regional and site EHS talent to ensure compliance needs are met.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in related field
- 10+ years EHS experience. Executive level leadership and communication skills managing teams in a global environment.
- Experience in leading cross-functional teams and SME’s.
- Strong stakeholder and project management capability is critical
- Knowledge of EHS regulations and compliance standards.
- Experience in project management systems and utilization of project management tools.
- Experienced at developing business continuity plans.
- Demonstrated ability to build long range strategic plans and execute per plan.

The base pay for this position is $149,300.00 – $298,700.00. In specific locations, the pay range may vary from the range posted.
