The Opportunity

This Brand Manager – Marketing Design works out of our Columbus, OH location in the Nutrition Division.

The Brand Manager leads and directs all marketing activities for the assigned product line(s) or business including P&L inputs. Responsible for the development, management, and execution of strategies, innovation, and tactical programs to effectively achieve commercialization, profit margin and business plan objectives. Additional responsibilities include innovation development, new campaign development and commercialization, media management, equity management, strategic & tactical business planning, Advertising Promotion & Gratis (AP&G) budget management, agency leadership, market segmentation, and project management.

What You’ll Work On

  • Identify new opportunities and direct all consumer marketing activity for an Abbott Nutrition brand

  • Establish marketing strategies for product(s) including advertising/promotions, pricing strategy, distribution channel management, product development, consumer tactical plan development and execution

  • Develop brand/portfolio equity, positioning, campaign ideas

  • Manage the development of and adherence to annual communication calendar including agency briefings, internal leadership alignment and financial document stewardship

  • Identify market opportunities based on target consumer segments and develop unique communications strategies to win with them

  • Identify future research needs to aid in plan/ long- range plan development

  • Evaluate in market performance of programs to ensure that they are delivering against expectations and business objectives and proactively recommend action to continuously improve key measures

  • Participate in the development of business plans, identify areas of concern, and modify marketing programs to address changes in the marketplace

  • Support development of long-term innovation portfolio pipeline, in partnership with cross functional team.

  • Determine and manage the allocation of product budget to maximize ROI.

  • Present brand and marketing programs to Senior Management

  • Collaborate with the Innovation and Delivery teams to ensure innovations are supported by robust go to market plans

  • Competitive campaign monitoring and reporting

  • Collaborate with internal and external stakeholders to achieve objectives. These groups include external customers and consumers, Field Sales, Research and Development, Regulatory Affairs, Manufacturing, Logistics, Public Affairs, Marketing and Executive Management and external vendors or agencies.

ACCOUNTABILITY / SCOPE / BUDGET:

  • Selected candidate will be accountable for developing and executing strategic and tactical objectives associated with driving Adult Nutrition brand sales. Actions and decisions will affect attainment of financial goals and objectives.

Required Qualifications

  • BA/BS Degree in Marketing

  • MBA strongly preferred due to the business complexity and strategic focus of the position.

  • 4+ years of progressively responsible product management experience in either health care/OTC marketing, consumer packaged goods marketing, or a combination of the two.

  • Demonstrated effective leadership competencies, including leadership in project management

  • Demonstrated leadership with agencies including constructive feedback and fast paced decision making

  • Financial and budget management experience and skills.

  • Resourceful marketer with the independence to find solutions to business problems and then act on them to drive results

  • Proven ability to develop and execute complex strategic business plans.

  • Ability to translate insights into actions & brand implications.

  • Effective communication and presentation skills with the ability to interact directly clearly, concisely and confidently with senior leadership to influence business strategy and investment decisions

  • Ability to collaborate with cross-functional teams to attain business objectives.

  • Strong analytical skills and KPI tracking capabilities

  • Applies data to support business decisions, strategies, contingency plans, and to provide direction to others

  • Ability to collaborate with cross-functional teams to attain business objectives. Willing to support others and share best-practices

  • Capable of successfully managing multiple projects and priorities simultaneously

Preferred Qualifications

  • MBA strongly preferred.

The base pay for this position is $90,700.00 – $181,300.00. In specific locations, the pay range may vary from the range posted.
