The Opportunity  

The primary purpose of this position is to oversee and manage third-party manufacturing partners, ensuring a consistent supply of products while meeting contractual obligations and maintaining quality standards. This role is directly responsible for providing focused leadership and strategic direction to support the ongoing maintenance and success of third-party manufacturing (TPM) partnerships.

What You’ll Work On 

  • Responsible for managing multiple Third-Party Manufacturers and business critical projects (including the negotiation and maintenance of contracts / supply agreements) to ensure that production requirements are met on time and in full.
  • Acts as the primary liaison between the TPM and Abbott Diabetes Care and is responsible for managing and developing the strategic relationship between the two parties.
  • Works closely with Quality Assurance, Engineering, R&D, Purchasing, Commercial, Regulatory, Legal, Production Planning, and Logistics to ensure continuity in supply for on-market products.
  • Provides inputs to and coordinates design transfer activities to support change management for on-market products including manufacturing cut over strategy.
  • Responsible for the successful resolution of business and supply chain issues with assigned Third Party Manufacturers that affect product quality or availability.
  • Generate and communicate KPI metrics to TPMs and Abbott management related but not limited to end of the month reporting, Quarterly Business Review meetings and ad hoc requests.
  • Works closely with the Portfolio Expansion teams to transition new products and new TPMs into business-as-usual status.
  • Evaluates cost / benefit of various financial scenarios and makes recommendations to senior management. Coordinates internal and external resources to address issues and secure the supply chain
  • Leads internal and external teams to manage cost and process improvement projects. Identify, share and replicate best practices across the internal and external supply chain network.
  • Supports the systems transactions required to support Third Party Manufacturers including but not limited to Finished Good and Raw Material Purchase Order issuance and maintenance via SAP.

Required Qualifications 

  • Bachelor’s degree in a technical field, operations, supply chain, or equivalent preferred.
  • Minimum 3 years - Experience Operations, Procurement, Supply Chain, or similar field.
  • Minimum 3 years - Negotiation / contract experience

The base pay for this position is $98,000.00 – $196,000.00. In specific locations, the pay range may vary from the range posted.
