The Opportunity

This position works out of our Des Plaines, IL Headquarters of Abbott Molecular, we are a division of Abbott Laboratories, a global, diversified healthcare innovator with a legacy of pioneering work in medical diagnostics.

Position Summary:

The Analyst Contracts role collaborates across the organization in the deal development process. The Contracts Analyst also provides counsel to field sales representatives during the deal development process to ensure alignment with segment strategy while ensuring strategic business objectives are met.  This role also collaborates with other areas impacted downstream such as Chargeback and Customer Service/Logistics Operations to ensure that pricing is consistent with the contracted rates and that contract terms.

The Analyst Contracts creates customer-facing proposal utilized by the sales representatives during the deal negotiation process that clearly and distinctly define the offer to enable the representatives to efficiently close the deal.  This role is also responsible for monitoring contract performance for customers to ensure sales and share objectives for key brands are being achieved. 

The Analyst Contracts role also performs ad hoc analyses and maintains the contracting systems and processes in place.

Main Responsibilities:

  • Completes financial analysis during the deal development process inclusive of AN and competitive volumes performing “What-If” scenarios and determine financial impacts based on share assumptions associated with contracting actions.
  • Creation of Deal Summary proposals during the deal development process, which outline all applicable details pertinent to the contract negotiation in a clear, concise, and professional manner.
  • Preparation of reports and presentations that provide information to senior management, allowing senior leaders to align on a go-forward strategy efficiently and effectively.  Details include, but are not limited to contracting and rebate history, sales trends, current situation, field sales force request, financial impact and Contract Analyst recommendations.
  • Assist sales teams to understand and utilize market leverage during contract negotiations.
  • Create terms and conditions, price exhibits and any other documents for customer proposals.
  • Monitor sales trends and market share results for executed agreements and calculate performance rebates.
  • Search for process improvements and efficiencies for the Contracts Analyst role and the area.  Assess non-value-added tasks and make recommendations for change to leadership team.
  • Demonstrate strong analytical skills, including the ability to explain the data and recommend a course of action based on the data.
  • Demonstrate strong command and ownership of all systems and business processes.
  • Strong attention to details.
  • Preferred experience with SAP systems.

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE YOU’LL BRING

Required

  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience required.
  • 2+ years of experience in applied contracting, financial, and market concepts.
  • 4 years of experience in Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, PowerPoint)
  • 2 years' experience system and business process aptitude

The base pay for this position is $72,700.00 – $145,300.00. In specific locations, the pay range may vary from the range posted.
