The Opportunity

We have an exciting opportunity for an Accounting Supervisor at our Orlando, FL location.

Our Abbott Rapid & Molecular Diagnostics site in Orlando is part of Global Business Services. This group is dedicated to delivering exceptional customer experiences and creating business value through compliance, standardization, and data analytics. As an Accounting Supervisor, you’ll oversee the accounting operations for multiple entities, ensuring compliance with Generally Accepted Accounting Principles and Sarbanes-Oxley regulations. You’ll also drive process improvements, implement new accounting technologies, and lead projects.

What You’ll Work On:

Team Management

     Direct daily operations of direct reports.

     Train, develop, and mentor the accounting team.

      Manage performance and provide supervision.

Internal Controls

      Ensure effective operation of internal controls.

      Implement new controls as needed.

Financial Accuracy

     Verify the accuracy of accounting entries and financial reporting.

     Review and analyze financial statements and trends.

Process Improvement

     Identify areas for improvement and implement changes.

     Monitor and analyze department work to enhance efficiency and accuracy.

Reporting and Analysis

     Oversee preparation and submission of monthly and quarterly corporate packages.

     Ensure timely and accurate uploads to the corporate consolidation system (Hyperion).

     Design reports and analytical measures to improve performance metrics.

Support and Collaboration:

     Support ad-hoc requests from business leadership.

     Collaborate with finance department managers to achieve department goals.

     Support the financial planning and analysis team with budgeting and forecasting.

Audit and Compliance

     Participate in site audits and maintain relationships with internal and external auditors.

     Maintain month-end documentation to comply with GAAP.

Multi-tasking

    Manage multiple priorities and demands under tight timelines.

    Advise staff on handling non-routine reporting transactions.

Required Qualifications

  • BS in Accounting / Finance required; CPA and/or MBA preferred.
  • 5+ years of accounting/financial planning and analysis experience required.  
  • 3+ years leading teams or projects.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Knowledge of accounting principles, standards, and regulations.
  • Proficiency with accounting software and databases.
  • Strong data management and analysis skills.
  • Experience with large data sets and spreadsheet/database queries.
  • Extensive experience with SAP, SAGE, HFM, and PowerBI.
  • Effective communication, organizational, and problem-solving skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities.

The base pay for this position is $83,000.00 – $166,000.00. In specific locations, the pay range may vary from the range posted.
